Concern for missing man George

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man George.

The 83-year-old left his home in Raymond Street in Blackburn North on Monday 22 August about 9am.

Enquiries by police have revealed he was last seen leaving Orlando Mediterranean Grocers in Rosella Street in Doncaster East and was heading north, about 30 minutes later at 9.30am.

Police and family are concerned for George's welfare as he is non-verbal, has a medical condition and is known to get confused and dizzy.

Officers have been told George doesn't drive or use public transport he also doesn't have a phone with him.

George may frequent the Blackburn Square Shopping Centre in Springfield Road Blackburn.

Two images of George have been released in the hope someone recognises him and provides information on his current whereabouts.

The first image shows George on Monday as he left the grocers in Doncaster East.

George is described as having a medium build, is about 177cm, with short grey hair and a moustache.

He was last seen wearing a blue jumper, dark grey/black pants, black shoes and was carrying a single walking crutch.

Anyone who sights George is urged to call Triple Zero (000) or with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Box Hill Police Station on 8892 3200.
