Connolly Incident

Joondalup Detectives have charged a man as they continue to investigate an incident which occurred in Connolly yesterday, Monday 4 December 2023.

About 9.30pm, police received multiple reports that an amount of cash was scattered along the roadside on the Mitchell Freeway.

Police attended a short time later and following a search of the area, located and seized an amount of cash.

Officers also observed a Holden Commodore parked on the roadside and spoke with the male driver.

Following a search of the vehicle, police seized cash and an amount of cocaine.

A 34-year-old Clarkson man was charged with;

- Possession of prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply (cocaine).

- Possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property, and

- No authority to drive (fines suspended).

He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 5 December 2023.

Detectives will continue to investigate a tow truck and motorcycle observed in the area at the time, both of which left the area as officers arrived.
