- Premier unveils site plans for $2.6 million pavilion project to support netball in the Wanneroo area
- Work set to begin next month on the project, fulfilling a $500,000 election commitment by the State Government
- Project jointly funded by the City of Wanneroo and the McGowan Government
Premier Mark McGowan today visited the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex to unveil site plans for the brand new Wanneroo Netball Association Pavilion.
Construction of the $2.6 million facility will begin in February, thanks to a $500,000 election commitment led by Wanneroo MLA Sabine Winton. The remainder of the project is funded by the City of Wanneroo.
The important community sporting project will deliver improved toilets, change rooms, umpires' rooms, a first aid room, storage and kitchen facilities. The successful contractor for the project will be announced shortly.
More than 6,000 club members and 500 teams will benefit from the improved facilities - with the upgrades set to alleviate the current shortage of change room space, and support increased local participation in the sport.
It is expected that the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex project will be completed in time for the 2020 netball season.

"Building the Wanneroo Netball Association Pavilion was one of my key election commitments, and I'm glad the McGowan Government and the City of Wanneroo have been able to work together to make this project happen.
"I'm looking forward to spending many Saturdays, once our new facility is up and running, cheering on our local teams and hopefully seeing many new faces getting involved."
