Strata management industry representatives and stakeholders are encouraged to have their say on proposed changes to educational requirements for those working in Western Australia's strata management industry.
Released today by Landgate, the consultation paper was developed in collaboration with the Strata Community Association (WA), REIWA and the Property Council. It outlines a new proposed model for educational qualifications for the strata management industry.
In WA, the Strata Titles (General) Regulations 2019 (STR) outline the educational qualifications for strata management industry employees. This includes the Certificate IV in Strata Community Management.
Information gathered through the consultation process will be used to inform any future amendments to the STR.

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:
"The strata management industry is an important economic contributor to the State, with almost 29,000 strata lots sold in the last financial year, with a value of just under $14 billion.
"This consultation paper will play an important role in ensuring educational requirements for people working in the strata management industry are clear, accessible, and appropriate.
"I encourage the strata management industry and anyone with feedback to have their say as part of this consultation process to ensure Landgate can propose changes to WA's strata titles regulations that best meet the needs of those that live in or manage these schemes."
