Cora Lynn Rec Reserve Upgrades Complete

Cardinia Shire Council proudly celebrates the completion of exciting upgrades at Cora Lynn Recreation Reserve, marking this milestone alongside the Cora Lynn Football Netball Club's centenary year.

Cardinia Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Brett Owen, said the timing of the project made the milestone even more special.

"Completing these upgrades during the Cora Lynn Football Netball Club's centenary year is a proud moment for Council and the community," Mayor Owen said.

"This investment in local sport delivers high-quality, accessible facilities that will support the reserve's various users."

The upgrades include a full redevelopment of the reserve's changerooms with a new modular built facility with unisex and accessible changerooms, dedicated umpire change facilities and spaces for strapping, first aid, storage and meetings. New public toilets have also been incorporated to better support visitors to the reserve.

A new timekeepers building and equipment shed has also been completed, improving match-day operations and providing secure, accessible storage for the reserve's stakeholders.

Westernport Ward Councillor, Trudi Paton said the project reflected strong collaboration with local reserve stakeholders, noting their commitment and collaboration were key to the project's success.

"The Cora Lynn Football Netball Club along with the Cora Lynn Reserve Committee of Management have played an important role in shaping these facilities," Cr Paton said.

"This project highlights the partnership between Council and the Cora Lynn Reserve Committee of Management, and the many key stakeholders involve in this project from the beginning."

"We're proud to be building on a strong sporting legacy in Cora Lynn."

The project was supported with funding from the Victorian Government's Community Sports Infrastructure Loans Scheme.
