Year 12 students from across Corangamite Shire and Mortlake can celebrate in style and meet new friends at the 2025 Winter Ball coming to the Camperdown Theatre Royal on Saturday 9 August at 7 pm.
Featuring music with DJ Corey Ryan, plus snacks and refreshments, the Ball will have a semi-formal dress code.
The event is alcohol and smoke-free, with no passouts, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Young people have been at the centre of hosting and organising the Winter Ball.
Corangamite Shire Council's Youth Officer Sarah Wright said the idea for the Ball came from Mercy Regional College school captains.
"They wanted an inter-school event to connect with each other and celebrate Year 12, which can be a tough year," Sarah said.
"Mental health is an important topic for young people, with Year 12 being especially challenging.
"That's just one of the reasons the students are driving this project – to get together for some fun in a very stressful year."
Student leaders from Camperdown College and Terang College have joined the organising committee and Year 12 students from other schools in the shire are encouraged to get involved.
Sarah said the event promised winter vibes, great music and a beautiful setting in the Theatre Royal.
"This is your chance to dress up, let loose and celebrate everything you've achieved this year – all in one unforgettable night," she said.
"Grab your tickets now and don't miss the biggest night of the year.
"Corangamite Shire Council is proud to support events like the Winter Ball, working alongside young people so they feel seen, celebrated and connected."
Proceeds from a raffle and any profits from the event will be donated to youth mental health organisation Headspace in line with the organising committees wishes.
