Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the redevelopment delivers new contemporary learning areas and improved outdoor facilities, ensuring the school is equipped to meet the needs of students now and into the future.
"When we invest in high-quality, well-designed spaces, we are investing in teaching and learning, as well as the engagement and wellbeing of every student who walks through these doors," Minister Palmer said.
"To ensure more Tasmanian students are able to benefit from improved facilities like those at Cosgrove High School, our Government is investing $188 million in major upgrades of 15 schools across the State.
"By investing in state-of-the-art educational facilities like this, we are building caring communities and a stronger Tasmania."
The redevelopment has delivered a range of new and upgraded spaces, including modern general learning areas, a dedicated student hub featuring a cafe and catering kitchen, specialist drama and music facilities, and enhanced staff and resource areas.
It also includes a new reception area and car park, improved accessibility through the installation of a lift, and a range of outdoor learning spaces, including an amphitheatre and new landscaping across the site.
The Cosgrove High School redevelopment is part of the Tasmanian Government's record investment in education infrastructure across the State, delivering the new and upgraded education facilities that Tasmanian students and school staff deserve.
The project was designed by local firm Liminal Architecture and delivered by Vos Construction and Joinery.
