Council advocates for its public housing residents

Yarra City Council
At Last night's Council Meeting, Yarra City Council committed to advocating on behalf of our residents living in public housing and to ensuring a significant increase in public and social housing dwellings to address the housing affordability crisis.

Our community have told us they want to remain in their homes. Demolishing Yarra's 12 public housing towers would create uncertainty and erode people's sense of community, belonging and security.

The City of Yarra has one of the highest populations of residents living in public housing in Victoria.
