Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Council Connect. Coming to you this week is me, Alexandria Carruthers, Deputy Mayor for Dungog Shire Council and C Ward Councillor.
So short and sweet this week. We've got the Housing and Infrastructure Master Plan community sessions locked in. We'll include those dates in the comments below, but we've also put those dates in the paper and sent it out through Council Happenings newsletter as well. And there'll be some more information coming up on social media too, but we'll put the link in the comments here, and that'll give you a link to our website that has a whole heap of information about what's included in the Housing and Infrastructure Master Plan. It's made up of a number of different strategies and plans. There's the Local Housing Strategy, the Rural Land Strategy, the Infrastructure Capacity and Prioritisation Plan, the Dungog Strategic Centre Plan, and the Local Strategic Planning Statement.
So we really do need input from community, because this really does shape how we look at housing and how we utilise our land here in the LGA, particularly around zonings, which will then influence our land LEP as well in time. But, we're focusing on the strategic documents at this stage, so community sessions are locked in. We will include those links with times, dates, and locations in the comments below.
Also just another shout out here to Muswellbrook Shire Council for all their help with the cleanup post floods. There's still a lot of cleanup to do. We know people locally, on their own properties, have a lot of clean up still that they're trying to get through, and Council is still working through our roads and infrastructure and getting that all back up to where it was prior to the floods coming through.
And in that infrastructure and asset space, we'd also like to welcome our new Infrastructure and Assets Director, Damian Morris. He'll be spearheading that space for us in Council from here on in, so welcome Damian, it's great to have you on board and we know that the team will really appreciate your leadership and guidance in that space.
The upcoming meeting for the Council is next Wednesday night. That's open to the community to come along and sit in the gallery. You can also speak before a council meeting if there's something on the agenda that you'd like to speak to. We'll include a link below to what's on the agenda for this upcoming meeting. You do need to register if you'd like to speak to an agenda item, so we'll include a link there for how to do that. Speaking happens from 5.30pm. If you'd like to come along, you're more than welcome, and we really do encourage it.
And to finish off this week's little quick update, just a reminder that the Thrive Field and Flavour Festival kicks off tonight at the James Theatre. So I'll include a link to that as well below if you haven't heard about it, but it's a great paddock to plate concept and all around farming and bringing those flavors to life, that are so unique to Dungog and what we can provide in terms of our produce, and all those wonderful things that we enjoy on our plates.
So Happy Friday. Short and sweet, as promised, I'll let you get on with your day. See you later.
