Council Demands Transport, Infrastructure This Election

Thompsons Road upgrade, extension of Clyde Rail, bus network improvements, funding for libraries, new community centres and infrastructure - these plus more are what the City of Casey is looking for commitments on this Election year.

The City of Casey has launched Building a Better Casey, a future-focused advocacy campaign calling on all levels of government to back essential infrastructure investment ahead of the upcoming Victorian State Election.

As Victoria's largest, and one of Australia's fastest-growing municipalities, Casey is home to more than 430,000 residents and is on track to exceed 610,000 by 2046. This rapid growth brings enormous opportunity, but it also demands urgent, strategic investment to keep pace with the community's needs.

Council's seeking firm policy commitments, meaningful investment, and clear action from all sides of government this State Election, to ensure Casey has the infrastructure and services it needs to thrive. Building a Better Casey outlines priority projects to improve access to transport, jobs, essential services and community facilities.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen says "Our community is growing at an extraordinary rate, and the infrastructure around us must keep pace. Ahead of the State Election, we are calling on the Victorian Government and all political parties to partner with us to deliver the investment our community deserves.

"With community feedback data, we'll be meeting face-to-face with MPs and Ministers across the political spectrum, presenting the evidence, building the case and pushing for real investment in the projects that matter most."

Residents will also be able to share their views on the projects that are most important to them through Casey Conversations.

Mayor Koomen continues "We want to hear from our community. Your stories and lived experiences matter and will help strengthen this campaign. It's important that decision-makers hear your insights and experiences firsthand."

The campaign outlines Casey's coordinated priorities across three key areas:
