Pandanus Trees along Crescent Head foreshore

Kempsey Shire Council is aware of concerns about the condition of some pandanus trees along Crescent Head's foreshore, which are showing signs of stress and dieback.

Council's arborist has inspected the affected trees and believe a potentially parasitic insect may be contributing to the trees' poor condition.

Samples have been sent to the NSW Royal Botanic Garden and NSW Department of Primary Industries to determine the definitive cause and Council is awaiting the results.

Council will communicate the results to the community and plan the necessary steps to hopefully save these iconic trees along the Crescent Head foreshore.
