In accordance with Schedule 1 Clause 4 in respect to the planning proposal (Part 3) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Section 29 of the Local Government Act 1993, Orange City Council gives notice of its intention to hold a Public Hearing regarding the proposed reclassification of 49-51 Molong Road, Orange.
The Public Hearing relates to reclassification of the land at 49-51 Molong Road (Lots 4 and 5 DP 790829) from Community Land to Operational Land by listing in Schedule 4 of Orange Local Environmental Plan 2011.
The land is currently vacant and zoned R2 Low Density Residential. The Planning Proposal will retain the current zone and reclassify the land to Operational Land under the Local Government Act as it is intended to sell the land for future housing.
The Public Hearing is to be held Wednesday, 19 November 2025 commencing at 12pm in the Council Chambers, Orange Civic Centre, corner of Byng Street and Lords Place, Orange. The Public Hearing will be conducted by an independent facilitator.
All interested persons are invited to attend. Those wishing to address the Public Hearing are requested to register no later than 12pm on Friday, 14 November 2025. Time available for speakers will depend on the number of registrations. It is requested that, where possible, groups with common concerns nominate a single spokesperson to address the hearing.
