Federation Council is extending its sincere gratitude to all residents, businesses, community groups, and stakeholders who actively participated in the recent 'Future Federation 2025-2026' engagement campaign throughout the month of May. This vital consultation provided the community with an opportunity to have their say on the Draft Delivery Program / Operational Plan and Budget 2025-2026, the Draft Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) 2025-2035, and the Draft Revenue Policy 2025-2026.

Community feedback was gathered through various channels, including online submissions, online polls, email, feedback forms at Council offices, and face-to-face discussions at pop-up and drop-in sessions across Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala, and Urana. A shire-wide mail-out also ensured broad awareness of this pivotal engagement opportunity.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook, expressed her appreciation for the community's valuable input.

"We are at a pivotal point in shaping the future of Federation Council, and our community's voice is absolutely essential," Mayor Cook said.

"The level of engagement we've seen throughout May truly reflects the passion our residents have for our region. We're incredibly thankful to everyone who took the time to review the draft plans and share their perspectives on the services, projects, and financial direction of our Council."

Mayor Cook said the insights gathered during this engagement period will be a valuable tool for all Councillors.

"Community feedback helps Council ensure that our delivery program and operational plan, our long-term financial plan, and our revenue policy are robust, responsible, and most importantly, aligned with the needs and aspirations of our growing community," Mayor Cook said.

"We are committed to delivering plans that not only meet these needs but sustainably strengthens the Federation Council for years to come."

All feedback collected during this engagement period will now be formally compiled and presented to Council for thorough consideration during June. This crucial step will directly inform the finalisation and adoption of the 'Future Federation 2025-2026' strategic plans.
