Council Launches Precinct Activation Grants

Local businesses and not-for-profit organisations in Stonnington neighbourhood precincts (in non-Special Rate Scheme areas) will soon be able to bring fresh energy to their neighbourhood, with applications opening on 22 June for Council's Precinct Activation Grants 2026-2027.

Grants of up to $15,000 are available to eligible Stonnington businesses and not-for-profit organisations to deliver creative experiences that will help activate our smaller neighbourhood precincts.

A total pool of $80,000 in funding is available to support projects and public activations that encourage visitation and spending, are temporary in nature, and enhance the identity and experience of Stonnington's neighbourhood precincts.

Council is encouraging neighbouring businesses to collaborate and develop innovative and temporary activations that attract locals and visitors.

Potential projects could include:

  • outdoor art workshops and classes
  • temporary creative or lighting installations
  • interactive games and activities
  • sustainable or environmentally focused initiatives
  • outdoor entertainment and performances
  • outdoor sporting or community events.
