Bega Valley Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Latta as its new Director Infrastructure, commencing on 1 December.
Mr Latta replaces Ian Macfarlane who is retiring from Council after 10-years of service initially as a manager and then as Director since 2021.
"I want to acknowledge and thank 'Mac' for his leadership and extensive contribution to the Bega Valley Shire" CEO Anthony McMahon said.
"I wish Mac and his wife Alison all the best for the next phase of their lives."
Mr Latta brings with him a diverse range of experience in leadership roles both in the private and public sectors, most recently as a Director Assets and Infrastructure at Georges River Council. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with honours and a Master of Business Administration.
"We had an extremely high-quality field of applicants for the role," said Mr McMahon
"Andrew was chosen for his breadth of experience, understanding of what the role requires and ability to demonstrate how he can excel in what is a principal role for our community." he said.
"We have a large program of major projects to deliver over the next four years as well as continuing to deliver services and look after the infrastructure our community needs."
"I am confident Andrew will be able to deliver on expectations and look forward to welcoming him to the Bega Valley," said Mr McMahon.
Mr Latta said he was excited to be starting a new chapter of his career on the far south coast.
"I am honoured to be joining Bega Valley Shire Council as Director Infrastructure. The region has a proud history and a bright future and I look forward to working with Council, staff and the community to deliver sustainable infrastructure that supports growth, resilience and liveability," said Mr Latta.
"My focus will be on building strong partnerships, driving innovation and ensuring our assets and services create lasting value for the people of the Bega Valley."
