Council partners with ClimateClever: Casey

The City of Casey has partnered with ClimateClever to help Casey's community monitor their carbon footprint and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The partnership will provide schools, homes and businesses with 50% of the ClimateClever app so they can measure and track their carbon footprint and work towards reducing emissions.

The app also allows users to create a personalised action plan to reduce consumption, costs, and carbon emissions across all utilities, including electricity, gas, water and waste.

In 2018, Council conducted a Community Environment Survey which demonstrated that 89 per cent of the respondents were concerned about the potential impacts of climate change within Casey's community.

Council is committed to working with neighbouring councils through the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) to understand the major impacts of climate change and global warming, and how to prepare for them.

The partnership supports Council's Emissions Management Plan, which seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and work towards achieving carbon neutrality. As well as the Smart Casey Launchpad which guides how Council harnesses data, technology and innovation to build a sustainable, inclusive and innovative community.
