Baw Baw Shire Council's first Council pop-up for 2020 will be held at the Jindivick Hall on Monday 24 February from 3.00pm to 6.00pm.

The session is open to all community members, who will be able to share any ideas or concerns they might have with Councillors, members of the Executive team and staff.

Council pop-up is an outreach program that aims to bring Council closer to communities in both rural and major townships. The sessions provide an open platform for community members to discuss ideas and concerns, ask questions and provide feedback to Council.

Following a successful pilot of the program during 2019, Council pop-up is set to continue in 2020 with more sessions in both rural areas and major townships – including Erica, Longwarry, Seaview and Yarragon. Due to the success of the Warragul sessions in late 2019, visits to more major townships will also be arranged.

Council pop-ups will be widely advertised, giving community members plenty of notice that Council staff will be present in their area.

The program will be run on a bi-monthly frequency, with sessions running for 3-4 hours, at a time that suits the community best.

As noted by Mayor Cr Danny Goss

"The Council pop-up program has been a great way to better understand the challenges, ideas and concerns of our community. I'm looking forward to seeing the program continue this year and meeting as many people as we can across Baw Baw Shire."

As noted by West Ward Cr Keith Cook

"I'd encourage anyone from Jindivick and the surrounding areas to call in and see us at the pop-up session. It's a great chance to talk face-to-face about what's important to you and get your questions answered."

As noted by West Ward Cr Tricia Jones

"Council pop-ups are a valuable way for us to learn first-hand about what's happening in our Shire and hear directly from the community about any issues they may be facing. There's no set agenda, and you can call in at anytime during the session and stay for as little or as long as you like."
