Council Proposes Special Charge Scheme To Upgrade Newcombe Street, Drysdale

At last Tuesday's meeting, Council moved to declare a Special Charge Scheme to support the construction and sealing of a 105 metre section of Newcombe Street, between Princess Street and The Glen in Drysdale.

The proposed works aim to enhance local access and amenity in response to concerns raised by nearby residents.

The total estimated cost of the project is $132,768.00, with Council committing $38,724.00 (29 per cent) of the funding. The remaining $94,044.00 (71 per cent) would be contributed by the owners of 10 properties that directly benefit from the improvements.

The scheme would apply for a period of five years from the date it is levied.

Under this scheme, the user experience and livability of Newcombe Street will be improved.

These improvements will make a real difference for the residents who use the road every day.

By working together with residents, we're delivering practical improvements that respond directly to the needs of the Drysdale community.
