Council receives end of year update for Action Plan

Central Goldfields Shire Council received its end of year update on the 2019/20 Annual Action Plan at Tuesday night's (25/08) Council Meeting.

In total, 90 projects and initiatives are identified in the plan and 61 of these are completed, 22 are in progress, six are not progressing and one is not due to start. Keep projects that are still in progress will be carried forward into 2020/21 – as identified in the Draft Action Plan that was adopted at the August 11 Council Meeting.

Some of the projects completed include the Changing our Story anti-family violence project, construction of the all-access Changing Places change rooms at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre, Economic Development and Tourism Strategy, secure funding for the Maryborough Skate and Scooter Park and develop a 10-year capital works program to inform the 10-year financial plan.

Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said it was encouraging to see nearly all projects and initiatives had been completed, or were well underway despite the challenges that the pandemic.

"All the items listed in the Action Plan aim to benefit residents in different areas such as economy, community and natural and built environments. This update is testament to staff from across the organisation and the huge body of work that has been carried out over the past 12 months."
