Council reopens Cressbrook Dam for water-based activities

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has reopened Cressbrook Dam to the public for all recreational uses.

With testing showing the water had now met the recognised safety standards, TRC Environment and Community Portfolio Leader Cr Tim McMahon said Council had reopened Cressbrook Dam for all uses for the weekend.

"This is terrific news one week before Christmas," Cr McMahon said.

"We know any closure to these facilities is an inconvenience for our residents so I'm pleased we're able to get Cressbrook back open in time for the holiday season.

"Residents will now be able to come to the dams and use the barbecue and public amenities as well as take part in recreational activities on the water

"For the fishing anglers out there like myself, I can't wait to throw a line in the water to see what I can catch."

Perseverance Dam has also re-opened for water-based activities for registered users.
