Council rolls out extra waste and support services in wake of recent bushfires

The Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) has been officially lifted as QFES, QPS and Council enter the recovery phase in the wake of the recent bushfires.

Additional services are being rolled out across the affected areas in Noosa Shire including extra waste collections and support services at a newly established Recovery Hub at the Peregian Beach Community House.

Council Director Community Services, Kerri Contini said the Recovery Hub and additional waste services will help, as business owners and residents return to their properties and assess the damage.

"We'll open the doors to the Recovery Hub at the Peregian Beach Community House from 9am on Thursday (12/10) to offer support to those who've been affected by the recent bushfires. It will be in place for the next two weeks.

"The additional waste collection services to those properties in the previous evacuation zone will help residents as they clean up. The first wheelie bin collection begins on Thursday morning at 6am, and again as usual on Friday."

Eumundi Road Landfill will allow free green waste disposal for affected residents until Wednesday
