Council welcomes the announcement by VicHealth of the Partners in Place grant, providing $500,000 over five years to support the health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and families.

The grant will support initiatives that strengthen the systems, relationships, and environments that influence health outcomes across the municipality. The project recognises that the health challenges faced by our communities cannot be resolved through individual programs alone, and that lasting change requires collaboration and commitment across organisations, services and the community.

Working alongside community partners and local stakeholders, Council will help design and deliver initiatives that respond to local needs and strengthen the support systems available to children and families. The project aligns with Council's commitment to supporting positive health and wellbeing outcomes through the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Throughout the project, Council will work closely with community members, service providers and key stakeholders to ensure local knowledge and experience shape future initiatives. By strengthening partnerships and creating more consistent support networks, the project aims to deliver long term benefits for children, families and the broader Murrindindi community.

Council welcomes this investment by VicHealth and looks forward to maximising the impact of the funding and creating meaningful, sustainable improvements in health and wellbeing outcomes.

Community members will have opportunities to provide feedback and participate throughout the life of the project. Further information about the project and engagement opportunities will be shared as they become available.

Mayor Damien Gallagher acknowledged this is an exciting and important investment in the future of our community, "It recognises that lasting change happens when organisations, services and communities work together to address the factors that influence health and wellbeing."

"We are pleased to be working alongside our community partners to deliver initiatives that are informed by local knowledge and designed to create positive, long-term outcomes for children, young people and families."
