Council services continue as lockdown extended

Kempsey Shire Council

Council's Library staff wearing masks

The news last week that regional lockdown would be extended until at least 10 September has left residents and businesses alike struggling with two more weeks of mask-wearing and staying at home.

Kempsey Shire Council is working hard to ensure as many of the key services that improve our quality of living are maintained through this period.

Bin collections, water and sewer services and essential road maintenance services continue as they have throughout the crisis.

The Library is also providing many digital services to compensate for the visit to browse the shelves that so many of us cherish as leisure time.

The Customer Service team have also been working with our Finance team to try and facilitate a lockdown version of the busiest week of the year at the front desk.

The end of August marks the due date for the first rates instalment, which many in our community do in person and in cash. Unfortunately this is not possible at present.

Kempsey Shire Council offers many options to help you pay your rates and charges.

  • Online - You can pay online through Post Billpay at https://www.postbillpay.com.au/
  • BPAY - Pay over the phone or online through your bank.
  • Direct debit – You can set up a Direct Debit Request on Council's website
