Covid-19 Update 19 March 2020

Five people in South Australia have today tested positive for COVID-19. There have now been a total of 42 confirmed cases in South Australia.

Today's confirmed cases are:

  • Male, 60s, travel to USA
  • Female, 20s, interstate travel
  • Male, 40s, travel to Czech Republic
  • Male, 20s, close contact of a confirmed case
  • Female, 60s, travel to USA

Only travel details relevant to when individual cases were infectious will be released, once they are available.

As of yesterday, more than 3,000 people have been tested at dedicated COVID-19 clinics. SA Pathology have so far undertaken almost 12,000 COVID-19 tests.

Two dedicated COVID-19 facilities at ECH College Grove and Wakefield Hospital are expected to be operational by April 2020 and will provide an additional 188 beds.

A COVID-19 testing clinic has opened today at South Coast District Hospital in Victor Harbor so people in the area have access to timely testing and treatment.
