COVID-19 Update: New Palmerston public exposure sites

A number of new COVID-19 public exposure sites have been identified across the Palmerston area, following two new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the NT.

The two new cases are household contacts of the mine worker in Palmerston. The family members have been in quarantine at Howard Springs since Saturday and remain in quarantine under the care of NT Health.

The new COVID-19 public exposure sites include one close contact site at a Palmerston Zumba 'pop up' class at the recreation centre, a number of casual contact sites including at the Palmerston flea market and several retail stores at the Gateway Shopping Centre.

It is important that all people in the Northern Territory continue to check the COVID-19 website to review the list of public exposure sites to make sure you are complying with the health directions. The list of public exposure sites will be updated as new information is provided through contact tracing.

People who have visited a NT public exposure site are defined as either close contacts, casual contacts or low risk contacts and depending on the level of risk are required to undertake quarantine, get tested for COVID-19 or monitor for symptoms.

The Marrara Drive-Through Testing Site is open until 8pm tonight. Bookings made online will be fast-tracked however people can still attend the site without an appointment and our health teams will assist you to get tested.

When attending the Marrara Drive-Through Testing Site please ensure you wear a mask, stay in your car and bring photo ID and your Medicare card. You can also get tested at the Royal Darwin Hospital Pandemic Clinic and the Palmerston GP Super Clinic (Respiratory Clinic).
