There were 594 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory until 8pm on 10 January 2022.
Data includes positive cases from Rapid Antigen Tests that have been reported to NT Health.
This takes the number of active cases in the NT to approximately 2,600.
There are currently 32 patients in hospital, with 11 classified as acute hospital admissions including one in ICU.
More than 2210 COVID-19 PCR tests were processed across the NT yesterday.
Reporting positive Rapid Antigen Tests
If your Rapid Antigen Test is positive, you should:
Isolate immediately.Declare your positive result online using the Rapid Antigen Test declaration form here. You can also call the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 490 484 however it is currently receiving a high volume of calls. We recommend you use the Rapid Antigen Test declaration form on the website if possible. There is also information about managing your COVID at home. Let members of your household and any close contacts know that you have received a positive test result. They should also be tested for COVID-19 using a Rapid Antigen Test.
You are no longer required to have your positive COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test confirmed by a PCR test.
Public Health Measures
To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission, the following public health measures are in place across the Northern Territory:
The Territory Vaccine Pass requires all people in the Northern Territory to show proof of their vaccination status to attend a range of businesses, venues, places and events.
A Territory-wide indoor mask mandate
A lockout in Yuendumu and Yuelamu
COVID-19 Testing
Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, change in taste or smell and a sore throat.
COVID-19 testing sites are open in Nhulunbuy, Katherine, Darwin, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. Testing is also available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.
