Covid update: restrictions lifted across NSW

Kiama Council

old council chambers

From Wednesday 15 December, nearly all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted across the state of NSW.

For Kiama Council and our community, this means we're back to business as usual, with a few exceptions.

Based on the latest public health order advice from the NSW Government, you will no longer need to check in to most Council facilities using QR codes, nor show vaccination status, nor wear a mask.

You can still wear a mask if you prefer and of course keep up the good hand washing hygiene, get tested if you feel unwell and stay home if sick.

There are some exceptions where restrictions still remain in place.

Mask wearing is still mandatory on public transport for people over 12

Gym-users at our Leisure Centre will still need to check in via QR code.

Anyone attending a funeral at The Pavilion will also need to check in to the venue via QR code.

In the aged care sector, the public health orders have not changed. Therefore visitors to our Blue Haven aged care home must continue to follow all existing measures.
