At last night's extraordinary meeting of Council, Cr Kenrick Winchester was elected Mayor of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council and Cr Esma Livermore was elected Deputy Mayor.
Cr Winchester was first elected to the Queanbeyan City Council in 2012. He was subsequently elected to the first Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council in 2017. Last night, he was elected Mayor for a two-year term.
Cr Esma Livermore was elected Deputy Mayor until September 2022. Cr Livermore is the first identified Aboriginal female councillor for Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council. She was first elected to Council at the elections on 4 December 2021.
