Bland Shire Council's Mornings, Melodies and Memories team continues to source high quality entertainment for seniors via the Mornings, Melodies and Memories program.

The Mornings, Melodies and Memories program offers an opportunity for seniors to share a morning tea together, accompanied by live music provided by various local talents, and to share some memories with their peers.

The program leaders have been travelling to the different villages throughout the shire to provide the service every Monday for several months. The seniors that participate are given a chance to connect with their peers, whilst enjoying a morning of gentle entertainment.

For the duration of the program, separate events have been held each week in a particular community. However, on occasion special events are held whereby all seniors from anywhere within the Bland Shire are welcome to attend.

The previous special event at Toppy Hall on 29 June attracted over 45 participants and featured performances by the West Wyalong Town Choir and the Wyalong School Choir.

There is another upcoming special event due to be held at 1:30pm-3:30pm at the West Wyalong Services and Citizens Club on Monday 31 July as part of not only the Mornings, Melodies and Memories program but Local Government Week 2023.

This free event will include afternoon tea and a performance by world-renowned Craig Giles.

Craig has a rich voice that is adaptable to his immense and varied repertoire of songs, which spans the spectrum of Ballads through to all styles of Country and on to the ever popular 50's-60's Rock and Roll.

Craig's performances have been enjoyed Australia wide and internationally, including New Zealand, America, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Alaska.

Bland Shire Council extends the invitation to all seniors within the Bland Shire to join the Mornings, Melodies and Memories team in welcoming this special guest to our shire, and sharing the afternoon enjoying his music.

Those interested can contact the Bland Shire Council to book on (02) 697 222 266.
