Western Australia's educators, teaching artists, and arts organisations will come together in August for the second Creative Learning Showcase, celebrating innovative approaches to teaching and learning through creative processes.
The 2026 Creative Learning Showcase at WA Museum Boola Bardip features workshops, panel discussions, and presentations exploring successful creative learning projects from across the State.
The event provides an opportunity for metro and regional teachers, education leaders, teaching artists, and arts organisations to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and build capability across the creative learning sector.
Internationally recognised educator and creative learning specialist Frank Newman will deliver the keynote address, exploring how educators and artists can co-design transformative learning experiences that foster creativity, curiosity, and deeper student engagement.
The Showcase forms part of the Cook Labor Government's $8 million Creative Learning Program, which increases access for students and teachers to enriching arts experiences while embedding creativity across all areas of the curriculum.
Since its establishment, the Creative Learning Program has invested more than $8 million into projects delivered at over 400 schools across Western Australia, engaging more than 63,000 students and educators while supporting the employment of more than 670 artists.
The Creative Learning Showcase continues the Cook Labor Government's commitment to fostering collaboration between the education and arts sectors, ensuring students benefit from engaging, creative, and future-focused learning experiences.
As stated by Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk:
"Creative learning equips young people with the confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking skills they'll carry with them throughout their lives.
"This Showcase brings together the educators, artists, and organisations leading the way in creative education, providing an opportunity to share ideas, inspire one another, and strengthen partnerships across Western Australia.
"Through our Creative Learning Program and Creative WA, we're investing in opportunities that help students engage more deeply with learning while supporting Western Australia's talented creative workforce."
