Crescent Head Waves Wreck Footpath, Stormwater System

Kempsey Shire Council

High tides and surges have caused damage to stormwater infrastructure next to Killick Creek and within the Crescent Head Holiday Park.

Residents may have noticed a cordoned-off section along the footpath. This area has been secured as a safety precaution due to damage in the stormwater system, where joins in the pipes have split. This has allowed water to escape and erode the surrounding earth, undermining part of the footpath and causing a sinkhole.

We understand this may be inconvenient and appreciate your patience. Council is currently assessing the extent of the damage and is planning the necessary repair works to be completed as quickly and safely as possible.

For your safety, please avoid the cordoned-off area and follow all signage in place.

Thank you for your cooperation.
