Just after 12.30am (Sunday 24 December 2017), police from Blacktown Local Area Command saw a Ford Falcon allegedly travelling in a concerning manner along Bungarribee Road.
When the vehicle stopped at traffic lights, a police officer attempted to speak to the driver; however, the man accelerated away from them.

After the 56-year-old man was released from the vehicle, he was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment to multiple injuries.
His injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
A critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the crash.
That investigation will be subject to independent review.
