A critical incident investigation is underway following the death of a man in the state's far south today.
Police attended Moorhead Street, Eden, about 3.45pm (Thursday 4 April 2019), in response to a disturbance.
On arrival police became aware of two men inside the home; one allegedly armed with a knife.
As inquiries continued, police entered the home and found a 49-year-old man suffering a fatal stab wound.
A 36-year-old man Bega man was arrested at the scene and taken to Eden Police Station.
A Critical Incident Investigation Team from Lake Illawarra will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be subject to independent review.
All information will be provided to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death and make any findings about the events leading to the man's death.
