Crochet Guild Australia's 2026 Crochet Convention brings world-class guest tutors, a vibrant yarn market and hands-on workshops for makers of all ages and skill levels to Wollongong this June.

Wollongong, NSW Crochet Guild Australia invites makers of all ages and skill levels to its 2026 Crochet Convention, 19 to 21 June at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. Themed Made to Last, the three-day event celebrates handmade craft and the communities that keep it alive across generations. Whether you have been crocheting for decades or are picking up a hook for the very first time, you are warmly welcome.

Our tutors bring a wealth of international and local expertise to the program. Some of our amazing guests are: Toni Lipsey of TL Yarn Crafts (USA) is known for her vibrant colour work and inclusive teaching style. Krisztine Anna Edömér of K.A.M.E. Crochet (Hungary) creates intricate, architecturally inspired designs with a global following. Rhondda Mol of Oombawka Design Crochet (Canada) is beloved for making complex techniques genuinely accessible. Arunima Goel of Knitterknotter (Australia) brings a fresh, contemporary design perspective. Abbey of Abbeymade represents the creativity of our homegrown crochet community. Joining them are two distinguished guild leaders and Titans in the Crochet world: Jenny King, Australian and International Crochet Designer and past President of Crochet Guild Australia, and Linda Dean, American Crochet Teacher extroardinaire and past President of the Crochet Guild of America.

The three-day program is packed with workshops spanning all skill levels, from first-time fundamentals through to advanced construction and design. Alongside the workshop program, the convention yarn market will bring together independent dyers, Australian fibre producers and small makers whose work reflects a commitment to quality and considered craft.

In the spirit of growing the crochet community, the convention is offering a special Bring a Friend promotion on select workshops. Book a full-priced ticket to a participating workshop, and your friend attends for free. It is a genuine invitation to share something you love with someone who has been curious about picking up the craft, and the perfect excuse to finally convince them to give it a go.

Made to Last is a theme crochet makers understand instinctively. The skills passed between a grandparent and a grandchild, the blanket that outlives the occasion for which it was made, the stitch pattern that travels from one corner of the world to another through a shared pattern link: crochet is, at its core, a craft built to endure. The 2026 convention is a celebration of exactly that.

"Crochet has always been a craft embedded in community and resourcefulness, and that is exactly what this convention is about. We are bringing together makers from all walks of life to learn from each other, be inspired and carry the craft forward." — Noami McManus, President, Crochet Guild Australia
