On Friday 28 May 2021, new directions were signed by the State Coordinator in South Australia applicable to people entering South Australia from Victoria. It is important that those people that this directly relates to understand these changes.

Under Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 15) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 was issued, prohibiting certain people travelling from Victoria into South Australia, other than those who may have some type of exemption.

People driving into South Australia from Victoria are only permitted to use the following prescribed roads to enter the state being the Sturt Highway, Yamba / Mallee Highway, Pinnaroo / Dukes Highway, Wolseley / Wimmera Highway, Laurie Park / Casterton Road, Penola / Glenelg Highway, Myora / Princes Highway, Glenburnie / Glenelg River Road, Donovans/Nelson.

South Australia Police are actively patrolling and monitoring roads entering into South Australia. Police will use mobile patrols and police aircraft to ensure compliance with the new border restrictions.

People found entering South Australia by any road; other than those permitted and in contravention of Associated Direction No 15, are reminded that this could be an offence and could be the subject of police action.

We strongly urge any person considering travelling into South Australia from Victoria to ensure they fully understand their obligations to comply with these new directions.
