CSIRO measures in response to COVID-19

As the national science agency, CSIRO is involved in key research in the rapid global response to the novel COVID-19 outbreak.

You can keep up to date with our work at Expert commentary: Covid19.

While working hard on this complex and evolving challenge, we are putting in place a number of measures to help limit the coronavirus spread:

  • Visiting CSIRO sites: CSIRO sites are now only open to CSIRO people. Social distancing is being practiced, and where possible we are encouraging people to work from home.
  • CSIRO travel: CSIRO people are no longer traveling either domestically or internationally for work unless it is business critical, and have instead moved to virtual meetings.
  • Hosting guests to CSIRO: With CSIRO sites only open to our people, all meetings with external partners are now being conducted virtually.
  • CSIRO field work: All research fieldwork is now subject to updated risk management assessments, and will not be conducted with at-risk communities or with large groups.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at CSIRO, so we remain committed to working closely with our partners and customers through this difficult time and beyond.

We're also passionate about sharing innovative science and technology with the community through our many events and locations, so while these take a break, you can subscribe to our news through our newsletter, Snapshot, our blog, CSIROscope, and our social media channels.
