Curtin University will open its 2022 applications early and continue with its expanded entry options to provide high school leavers with security for their learning futures.
Curtin's Year 12 applications will open from Monday, 29 March direct via its website and from April 19 via the Tertiary Institution Service Centre (TISC). Year 12 students will be able to apply to Curtin and receive an offer for a range of courses based on their predicted ATAR, calculated on Year 11 results.
Curtin has long provided a wide-range of pathway options for Year 12 students seeking entry to courses, including portfolio entry, UniReady, enabling pathways and the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
In 2020 Curtin also introduced 'Access Curtin', an additional pathway to university. Given its success in supporting students to gain entry and succeed at Curtin, it will be continued in 2021.
'Access Curtin' allows applicants who meet English and any specified prerequisites to be considered for a place in courses that have a 70 ATAR requirement. Applicants within this pathway will need to pass two units within the first four units in order to progress.
Curtin Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Jill Downie said the early applications process will provide some certainty for school leavers.
"We are pleased to be able to open applications early for entry into Curtin. We understand the importance of Year 12 and want our students to focus on their studies, secure in the knowledge that they can avail themselves of a range of entry options into their next phase of learning," Professor Downie said.
"We have again collaborated with TISC to open early and to remove the standard application fee for all applicants."
All offers are on the condition that when ATAR results are released, students meet the ATAR and any other admission criteria for the course they were offered.
