Cyclist critical after hit-run in Dandenong

A cyclist has been left with critical injuries following a collision in Dandenong this afternoon.

Police have been told the cyclist was struck by a silver Holden Astra hatch with partial registration WXE about 1.10pm on Langhorne Road near the intersection of the Princes Freeway.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render assistance and fled westbound on the Princes Highway.

The cyclist, a 46-year-old Dandenong North, man was transported to hospital where he remains with critical injuries.

Police are urging the driver of the Astra to come forward and contact police.

Investigators also wish to speak with anyone who might have dashcam/CCTV footage, who witnessed the incident, or who might have seen the car in the Dandenong area.
