A Cyclone Watch has been issued for the Darwin region by the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM).
City of Darwin is encouraging residents to secure or remove any loose items around their homes that could become hazardous in strong winds.
Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility, pools, and libraries will remain open tomorrow, Friday 21 November.
City of Darwin is monitoring Tropical Cyclone Fina and is encouraging residents and visitors to do the same.
City of Darwin CEO Simone Saunders said the council has a comprehensive cyclone plan in place and was taking all necessary steps to keep the community safe.
"Our teams are working behind the scenes to ensure essential services remain operational for as long as it is safe," she said.
She also encourages the community to prepare by securing or removing any loose items around their homes that could become hazardous in strong winds.
"We will provide updates to the community as soon as new information becomes available," Ms Saunders said.
Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility will open tomorrow with extra resources in place, and we thank residents for their patience if wait times are longer than usual.
Other City of Darwin facilities including pools and libraries, and the Dragonfly and West Lane carparks will remain open tomorrow, Friday 21 November.
