Dangerous driving charges at Gold Coast 14 March

Gold Coast Highway Patrol have charged a 20-year-old Coomera man with dangerous driving and evasion offences after two alleged incidents at Stapylton and Runaway Bay last week.

It will be alleged on Sunday, March 5, patrolling officers spotted a silver 2000 Ford Falcon driving dangerously near Eastern Service Road, Stapylton.

When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, it will be alleged the vehicle evaded police.

It will be further alleged on Monday, March 6, the same vehicle was observed driving dangerously at a roundabout at the intersection of Lae Drive and Oxley Drive, Runaway Bay.

Investigations led police to locate and seize the vehicle and arrest the 20-year-old driver at an Ormeau service station on Thursday, March 9.

He has been charged with evade police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 23.
