The Darwin Waterfront Corporation (DWC) Board operates with transparency and integrity, and in compliance with the Darwin Waterfront Corporation Act 2006, applying high standards of governance.
Since its inception, the DWC has been, and continues to be, subject to annual audits by the NT Auditor General. These audits, conducted in accordance with the relevant NT laws and with reference to the Commonwealth Corporations Law, have consistently found no evidence to support any finding of financial or governance misconduct. The Darwin Waterfront Corporation Board understands there has been a referral to the Public Accounts Committee. The Darwin Waterfront Corporation categorically denies any wrongdoing and welcomes the opportunity to respond to any matters raised by participating in any inquiry.
The DWC Board Chair extended an invitation last week to the Opposition Leader for a briefing on the allegations and is disappointed that this offer was not acknowledged. The offer for a briefing remains open.
The DWC will fully cooperate with the Public Accounts Committee, in accordance with the Darwin Waterfront Corporation Act and all other applicable legislative and other requirements.
