Daw Park supermarket robbed - man arrested, South Australia

Police have arrested a man following an attempt robbery at Daw Park.

Just after 10am, Friday 10 December, patrols were called to Goodwood Road, after a man entered a supermarket and threatened staff claiming he was armed with a firearm - no weapon was sighted. He left on foot with a pouch of tobacco. Patrols were quickly on scene locating the man a short distance away.

The 28-year-old from Adelaide, was taken to the City Watch House where he allegedly spat on an officer. He has since been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for a mental health assessment and is expected to be charged later today with aggravated robbery and assault a prescribed emergency worker.

Thankfully no one at the supermarket was physically injured.
