Diversity Council Australia (DCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brewster, Chief Legal and Safety Officer at Coles Group Limited, to its Board of Directors at the organisation's Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 25 June 2026.
David's appointment sees one of DCA's founding member organisations represented on the Board as the organisation builds on the momentum of its 40th anniversary and looks to its next chapter.
David brings extensive executive leadership, governance and board experience, along with a longstanding commitment to creating inclusive workplaces through his leadership of LGBTQI+ inclusion initiatives, reconciliation efforts and workplace wellbeing programs.
DCA Board Chair Sunita Gloster AM welcomed David to the Board.
"As DCA enters its fifth decade, it's particularly meaningful to welcome a leader from Coles to our Board. Coles was one of the eleven organisations that helped establish DCA in 1985, recognising that creating fair, safe and inclusive workplaces is both a business and societal imperative. Forty years on, that commitment remains as important as ever.
"David brings deep executive and governance experience from one of Australia's largest employers, together with a strong commitment to inclusion and workplace wellbeing. We are delighted to welcome him to the Board as we continue to support Australian organisations through a period of significant workforce change."
Sunita also congratulated Craig Mutton, Transformation Executive at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, on his re-election to the Board and thanked outgoing Director Annie Pettitt, Director Culture and Inclusion at Transport for NSW, for her valued contribution during her Board tenure.
