Eligible local organisations are encouraged to get their Community Support Grants applications into Council, as the program window closes in less than two weeks.
Applications for grants of up to $5,000 will shortly be awarded across four categories: sports/recreation and health/well-being, culture and arts, environment and sustainability, and events.
The program proudly provides funding to local sporting clubs and community groups and organisations. This grant funding supports community-led initiatives to increase engagement in sports and recreation, cultural events, arts accessibility, and sustainability initiatives.
Recent recipients of Council's Community Support Grants include Ararat & District Historical Society, Ararat Railway Heritage Association, Elmhurst Fire Brigade and Pomonal Primary School.
Applications are open until 30 April 2025 at 5:00 PM. Interested groups can apply online via Council's site or obtain a hard copy application form from Council's municipal offices.
"Council is committed to ensuring our local groups and organisations get access to the resources they need," says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Jo Armstrong. "Our grants program equips those groups with material assistance, so they can continue forming the strong community connections which are so important to our lives in Ararat Rural City."
