Sherwood Bridge Flood Camera Back Online

Kempsey Shire Council

The Sherwood Bridge flood camera is back online and providing residents with a live view of conditions at the river crossing.

We know the camera is a valued source of information for many residents during wet weather and flooding, and we appreciate the community's patience while works were carried out to restore the service.

After extensive troubleshooting and repair attempts, the camera system was replaced as the most reliable long-term solution.

The new setup includes a replacement camera, router and communications equipment. The upgraded router also allows remote diagnostics. The works provided an opportunity to improve the overall setup at the site, with equipment repositioned to create a better-balanced installation and improve access for maintenance. This included relocating the river level sensor that provides data to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The new camera is the same model as recently installed at Turners Flat and Bellbrook and uses newer technology to improve reliability.

Thank you again for your patience while these works were completed.
