Dean Winter: Anti-union, Anti-Labor

Liberal Tasmania
  • Felix Ellis Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Minister for Housing, Planning and Consumer Affairs, Minister for Skills and Training, Member for Braddon
  • Tasmanians are starting to discover why the Labor left fought so hard to keep Dean Winter out of parliament.

While Mr Winter has made an art form of telling different audiences different messages to suit his need, the Labor left have always been suspicious of his true motives.

It was only a Federal intervention in defiance of the Tasmanian Labor left that enabled Mr Winter's political career to proceed.

Now, Dean Winter's anti-union, anti-Labor views have been laid bare.

It's no wonder the Labor left did their mighty best to keep Mr Winter out of the Labor Party.

He has been a long-term critic of unions.

Mr Winter's X account is a smorgasbord of anti-union, anti-Labor tweets with hits ranging from attacking CPSU stalwart Tom Lynch for his Budget advocacy, to labelling UnionsTas' State Budget Position as "magic pudding economics".

Or how about the time Mr Winter labelled the ANMF's advocacy as "a bit rich".

How can Mr Winter work alongside candidates like Jess Greene, Lead Organiser at the CPSU, when attacking CPSU royalty like this:

"Tom Lynch can't complain about the lack of reform. He organised a rally to bust the budget before it was even delivered! #politas @936hobart"

How can Mr Winter work alongside union heavyweight candidates like Jess Munday when making statements like this :

"Remarkable similarities between the @SocialistAllnce and UnionsTas State Budget position. Both into the same magic pudding economics #Politas"

Mr Winter has had the anti-union, anti-Labor rhetoric turned up to 11 :

"What is the official justification for why public servants get a public holiday while actual wealth creators turn up to work? #politas"

Mr Winter simply cannot be trusted.

He can't say where he was born.

He has flipped and flopped on major policy decisions.

    Now, he's been outed as anti-union, anti-Labor.

This election wasn't our choice. Dean Winter forced the election on you because he is more interested in political games than Tasmanian families.

Tasmanians are sick of the politics. They want action. They want stability. And they want it now.

This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go-round of chaos.
