Detectives from the Geelong Family Violence Investigation Unit have charged a man following the death of a woman in Thomson last night.
The 42-year-old Thomson man has been charged with assault and other offences.
He will appear at Geelong Magistrates Court this evening.
The man was arrested following the death of a 39-year-old Thomson woman overnight.
Police were called to an address on The Walk just after 9.30pm on 31 January following reports of an alleged assault.
The woman subsequently died at the scene.
The parties involved in the incident were known to each other.
