Detectives Charge Two, Seize $1.13M in Drug Bust

Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged two people and seized 2.33 kilograms of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of $1.13 million, a clandestine lab and almost $264,000 cash following a joint investigation with the Australian Border Force (ABF).

In January 2026, State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad's Chemical Operations Team established Strike Force Polmont to investigate the activities of a criminal syndicate believed to be involved in the cultivation and supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.

In the same month, ABF officers in Melbourne detected 120kg of pseudoephedrine concealed beneath the floorboards of a shipping container, the matter was referred to Victoria Police and two men were arrested. They both remain before the courts in Victoria.

Following extensive inquiries, ABF investigators identified further individuals in Sydney who were allegedly funding the pseudoephedrine import and had been importing equipment and materials utilised in the domestic manufacture of methylamphetamine.

As a result of joint investigations, about 7.30am yesterday (Tuesday 23 June 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from ABF Investigators and Public Order and Riot Squad officers – executed search warrants in Concord West, Belmore, and Sydney.

During the searches, detectives allegedly seized 1.93 kilograms of methylamphetamine, 371 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of heroin, 5 grams of cannabis, a clandestine lab and $263,965 in cash.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested at a unit on Harbour Street, Sydney.

She was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

She was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 7 today (Wednesday 24 June 2026).

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Concord West and taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged with breach of bail.

He was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court yesterday where he was formally refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 13 August 2026.
