Detectives Investigate Arson Attacks In Mount Waverley

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following two arson attacks at a Mount Waverley residence last week.

It is understood three unknown males approached the Surrey Road property about 1.30am on Sunday, 18 February.

Police were told the offenders poured an accelerant on the front lawn of the property, before throwing a Molotov cocktail at the residence.

Investigators believe the same three males then attended the residence about 1.50am on Wednesday, 21 February.

It is believed one of the men threw an object through the front window of the property before another offender threw a Molotov cocktail.

Residents of the property were home at the time of both incidents but were not injured.

The property sustained minor damage on both occasions.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of three men they believe can assist with their enquiries.

They are described as being in their early 20's with slim builds.

They were wearing hooded jumpers, tracksuit pants or shorts, and runners.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
