Detectives investigate Bendigo shooting

Police are appealing for witnesses following a shooting incident in Bendigo last month.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are investigating the incident which occurred at an address on York Street on September 29.

It is believed a number of offenders have entered the address at about 1am armed with a firearm.

Following a short conversation with the offenders the victim was struck to the back of the head with the firearm and shot in the leg.

The incident is believed to have been targeted towards an associate of the occupants of the premises.

Investigators have been told the victim was visiting at the address at the time of the incident and does not normally reside at the premises.

Paramedics attended the address and found the victim with a head injury and gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was conveyed to a Melbourne hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
